    Verdict

PETE is given the vote to land his hat-trick at the expense of Majorca and Newgate. The selection has hit top form this month winning back to back races at Kelso and Perth. He returns to the track running off the same mark as he did when winning last time out and we feel he is still ahead of the handicapper so he is worth staying on the right side of for the time being. Majorca has top weight to deal with but he did run well when finishing second to Boulders Beach at Southwell last time out, and has won off a higher mark in the past so is respected. Newgate bids for his hat-trick after wins over course and distance and most recently at Wetherby. He is seven pounds higher in the weights since that last victory and it remains to be seen how he will deal with that. A competitive handicap but Pete looks to be on the up grade and is favoured to continue in his winning ways.
