In depth

Verdict

Final Drive was down to run in the 3.40 yesterday where he was no forlorn hope. CAYMANS made an impressive Dubai debut when third behind Presvis last month and this Australian Grade 2 winner would be an automatic choice on turf. He still gets the vote on first-time Tapeta, though Ayun Tara is expected to give him a fright. The France-based filly, runner-up on her only start here last year in the UAE 1000 Guineas, has run very well on both starts this season and looks ready to win again soon. Escape Route is very consistent but appears better over 7f as does Atlantic Brave, who finished just in front of him in a Listed event at Jebel Ali two weeks ago. Here To Win was a major disappointment when tried over 1m2f last time and is much better judged on his very good second to Derbaas over a mile on turf previously.
