Bahrain-based owner-trainer Fawzi Nass has had very little luck in Dubai but will be hoping for big things from the high-class Strawberrydaiquiri, a Group 2 and 3 winner for Sir Michael Stoute early last summer and runner-up in the Sun Chariot Stakes on her final start in October. She has the Dubai Duty Free as her main target at the Carnival and may not be quite ready for this. The pair who certainly will be ready and are selected to fight out the finish are Aspectoflove, who landed the Grade 2 Cape Verdi under a brilliant Frankie Dettori ride last month, and RIVER JETEZ, who was unlucky in-running and can take her revenge on 3lb better terms. Mike De Kock's filly, a Grade 1 winner in South Africa, was having her first start since July that day and the extra furlong will suit. De Kock is also represented by the progressive Reem, who was fortunate to beat stablemate Mahbooba in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial and was put in her place by that classy filly in the real thing. The ex-Italian Lolamar produced a real shock when beating Shimmering Moment over 1m2f here earlier in the month but will need further progress in this class.
