In depth

Verdict

Regency Red can beat stablemate English Archer, Princely Ted and Paparaazi, with Intavac Boy another to consider. The finale looks pretty wide open, but Regency Red is taken to gain another course-and-distance success in the hands of Darryll Holland. Mark Brisbourne's nine-year-old is better known for his all-weather exploits these days, but showed that he is still very adept on Turf when scoring at Beverley a fortnight ago. Granted that was only a selling contest, but he was such a comfortable winner then that he is worth chancing to gain a second success at the Scottish track. Stablemate English Archer has slipped down the weights these days and ran well enough when second at Folkestone, while Princely Ted has produced one or two fair efforts since returning from Spain. Intavac Boy has run well in two starts for his new stable, but looks set to go over hurdles in due course, and the battle-hardened Regency Red makes most appeal.
