Verdict

GENTLEMAN DE MEE took a couple of races to warm up over fences but then completed a brilliant hat-trick when beating Arkle winner Edwardstone in the Grade 1 Maghull at Aintree. He should be challenging for top honours this campaign and can make a successful return. Coeur Sublime was beaten a long way in the Arkle but did very much better when only a neck behind Blue Lord in a Punchestown Grade 1 and receives 9lb from the selection. Jeremys Flame has twice been placed at Grade 2 level over fences and has a race-fitness advantage having won a Galway handicap last month. Gallant John Joe has never won over fences and Francin was well beaten on last month's chasing debut at Wexford.
