In depth

Verdict

Im Ova Ere Dad benefited from a well judged ride from Simon Walker to win a similar event at Goodwood last week and is the obvious choice. Racing here under a 6lb penalty, the selection won with any amount in hand and with the added bonus of the best jockey on board, he is a confident pick. Iceman George has been shown some respite by the assessor and put in his best performance this season with a second behind Artreju. Very few got involved in that Newmarket event, as if often the case with these type of contests, but a re-production would see him a contender for minor honours. Sforzando is another in reasonable form while Western Roots was an easy winner at Great Leighs last time but this will be much tougher. Im Ova Ere Dad is the pick to land the finale.
