In depth

Verdict

Jeu de Mot is from a yard in good form and is given the vote here over Criminal Act and Multakka. The selection, a son of Montjeu, really caught the eye on his debut and once the penny had dropped he stayed-on well to finish second behind Confidential Lady. He should come on a bundle for that experience and he is put forward as our choice. Criminal Act is respected as a live danger as he was an eyecatcher on his debut when third behind Prince of Light. He should improve for that run and with the step-up to 7f in his favour he is entitled to go well. Multakka is an interesting newcomer from the Marcus Tregoning yard but he is bred to be better over further in time so we are prepared to watch him on his racecourse bow. A market move for any of the other newcomers should be noted, but Jeu de Mot sets a fair standard for the rest here and is given the vote.
