In depth

Verdict

The Jobber is in great heart and can confirm his superiority over Green Manalishi, while One Way Ticket and Dancing Mystery are always dangerous to ignore in this sort of contest. The last named has been an absolute credit to all concerned with him over the years and he is showing no signs of losing his enthusiasm. However, he has been running as if he needs a little help from the assessor of late and faces a stiff test today. One Way Ticket, on the other hand, overcame a career highest mark at Catterick last month and is obviously at the top of his game. Still, he has gone up 6lb since then and now has even more to find. He is reluctantly passed over. Green Manalishi bounced back at Sandown earlier in the week and should make a bold bid to follow up. However, a strict reading of recent form with leaves him with a little to find with the selection. Therefore, we stick with The Jobber, who has plenty in his favour as he bids to cement his position as the top-rated horse in the field.
