    Verdict

In an interesting contest, Aqaleen is selected ahead of Diysem and Authorized. Much as the bare form of his Lingfield win is not great, the manner of Diysem's victory was taking and he can go well today. Tastahil improved on his debut effort to win on Kempton's all-weather but, once again, he needs to improve again to land a race of this nature. Aqaleem caught the eye over course and distance on his debut and, clearly quite well-regarded, he looks a danger to all. With some good juveniles in his stable this season, Peter Chapple-Hyam's 400,000 guineas son of Montjeu, Authorized, rates as interesting, while Barry Hills' 32,000 guineas acquisition, Palamoun, has also to be given some thought. Finally, Teslin has to step up on his first two starts, much as he has shown promise but, in a race that has produced a number of subsequently top-class horses over the years, the vote goes to Aqaleen.
