Verdict

With a doubt concerning the fitness of Mubtaker after 11 months off and Imtiyaz having failed to sparkle since his return from Dubai this may be best left to Parasol, who is now returned to 1m2f. The selection showed much improved form on the all-weather earlier in the year and carried that over to turf with wins at Kempton and Chester in the spring. David Loder's four-year-old failed to stay the mile and a half of the Hardwicke Stakes last time and, back over today's trip, should be seen to better effect. Island House is a capable performer and should be thereabouts but would probably prefer a softer surface. Sir Michael Stoute's Magnifico is probably better than he showed on his return at Royal Ascot but is difficult to fancy on what he showed there, while the three-year-old Dunhill Star ran too badly to be true in the Derby last time. Binary File ran encouragingly on his reappearance but failed to step up on that and is not certain to stay anyway. Imtiyaz is unexposed over this trip and may prove the biggest threat to the selection, if he can put a below par effort in France last time behind him but, all in all, Parasol looks the safest bet.
