In depth

Verdict

There is little for backers to go on here with only two of the 11 runners having raced previously and, with neither Lord Deevert nor Private Code making much appeal, a chance is taken on the newcomer Nacho Libre, who is preferred to Harlech Castle. The last mentioned is trained by Paul Cole who has already had success with a juvenile this season and the son of Royal Applause has to be respected. A market move for Mick Channon's Legendary Guest would be of interest, as it would for Peter Chapple-Hyam's Piccolo colt Winker Watson. Richard Hannon's Party In The Park has a decent pedigree and is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Nacho Libre, who looks the pick of Barry Hills two runners. A half-brother to the useful Always Hopeful and Polly Plunkett, the selection comes from a yard that traditionally does well with their runners at this time of year and he is taken to make a winning debut.
