In depth

Verdict

Kiwi Bay and Van Bossed appear to be the two to concentrate on here and the nod goes to the first named, with Le Toreador and Red Delight capable of grabbing a place. The selection encounters very different ground than on his debut but if he handles it then he should go well, especially as the seemingly never ending Newcastle final furlong should suit. He should have come on for that experience and assuming he improves for that first outing then he can run a big race. Le Toreador and Thompsons Walls should both come on for their debuts and the market will help guide to their chances; however Van Bossed looks the main danger to the selection. The Dandy Nicholls-trained son of Van Nistelrooy got the hang of things late on on his debut and wiser for that outing, he should play a hand. Red Delight has shown ability on her two starts to date so is another to consider carefully, however Kiwi Bay gets the nomination.
