In depth

Verdict

Plenty with claims in this. Jan Smuts bids for a hat-trick under a penalty after winning an amateurs race at Musselburgh last week but Kodacil is weighted to reverse earlier running with the former. Almost Gemini is upped a further 5lb having landed a double on the Polytrack recently while Stickleback and Destiny Awaits could also get involved after both finished second on their latest starts. Naburn could figure if staying the longer trip but BEAT THE SHOWER looks set for a bold bid on the back of a narrow-margin defeat at Ripon and Peter Niven's charge gets the nod.
