In depth

Verdict

This won't take much winning but Samson Collonges and Barr Head are hard to fancy from well out of the handicap. Danny John Boy won over a marathon trip at Cartmel in June but was tailed off over 3m1f at Carlisle two weeks ago, though this is a lesser contest. Copper's Gold is only a pound higher than when successful over C&D in March but he's more exposed than CAPTAIN NASH, despite being a year younger. Chris Grant's charge got off the mark over fences at Hexham in March but hasn't been unduly punished by the handicapper. He makes more appeal than stablemate Bob Will.
