Verdict

LAYLA'S LEXI is less exposed than a number of these and her mark of just 67 may be blown out of the water with a bold shown tonight; Indian Valley and Hulcote Rose are others worth bearing in mind, while Wild Rockette showed promise on a couple of occasions last season and is one to monitor for future reference here. Hulcote Rose has been in cracking form and carries top weight after a couple of progressive efforts on the all-weather. She has a bit to prove back on turf; especially under top weight, so will need to pull out all the stops again here. Indian Valley fared well in modest company last term but was put in her place when tried in a Listed race in October. This is a far more realistic level and, as she represents shrewd connections, confidence from the betting ring would be noteworthy. However, Layla's Lexi showed marked improvement when upped to a mile on her debut for Ian Williams and, having proved she has trained on, the Reset filly is worth persevering with whilst she is so obviously on good terms with herself.
