      Verdict

A cracking contest where Irish raider Oracle is likely to make a good account of himself, but has plenty still to prove and preference is for SIR REGINALD. The Richard Fahey inmate was a good third in the Gimcrack at York before another really good effort at Doncaster in a similar race to this last week. Those runs are the best form on offer in this field and any repeat would make him hard to beat. Auld Burns is a potential significant improver and is respected, while Sandown maiden winner Roman Eagle can build on that but will need to step up plenty to win in such a competitive race after just one start. Shafgaan is going the right way and has claims as an improver now stepped up in trip but Sir Reginald is the one for us.
