Verdict

Only 5lb separates the six runners according to official ratings and David O'Meara sets a poser by saddling two. Amazing Maria is a dual Group 1 winner and was third on this course the last time she ran in a Group 2. James Doyle is her regular rider so it wouldn't be wise to attach too much significance to the fact that stable jockey Danny Tudhope rides CUSTOM CUT but his mount probably has the better recent form, including when only finding classic winner Awtaad too good at Leopardstown last time and was only beaten a length by Time Test in this 12 months ago. Nathra was second in the French 1000 Guineas in May and has every chance on that form but Gifted Master has only run over this trip once before, though it was on this track and he did win. Forge had a morale-boosting win at Haydock but has never competed at this level before while Cougar Mountain usually finds at least one too good.
