In depth

Verdict

Cornish Flame ran better here over 2m3f earlier this month and Jimmy Frost's gelding may appreciate the step up in trip today so has to be respected but it is hard to get away from Ofarel D'airy, who gets the vote over Martin Pitchwood. The last mentioned comes into this on the back of winning point-to-point form and looks the pick of the two runners from the yard of Ron Hodges ahead of Marlowe but he will need to go well to trouble the selection. Devil's Creek is another with winning form in points and represents the yard of Ian Williams that is in pretty good form at present. Paul Nicholls continues to churn out plenty of winners though and it will be a surprise if his representative Ofarel D'airy is not good enough to go one better than when finding just Virginia Preuil too good at Fakenham last time.
