In depth

Verdict

Wade Farm Billy was a narrow winner at Fontwell last month having shown promise under testing conditions on his debut at Plumpton previously and Gary Moore's gelding has to be respected but he may struggle to give weight away all round here and preference is for C'Monthehammers, who gets the vote over Rapid Pete. The last mentioned showed some promise on his Ludlow debut last month and representing the yard of David Pipe he has to be respected. Philip Hobbs saddles Canaradzo, a son of Flemensfirth, and it will be interesting to see if there is any market support for the four-year-old. Similar comments apply to Tom George's Alflora gelding Peter Slip but it is C'Monthehammers that gets the vote. The selection ran a promising race on his debut at Ludlow, should handle the testing conditions and he is taken to give Nigel Twiston-Davies another winner in this grade.
