Verdict

THE RATTLER OBRIEN, a winner of three point-to-points, has been second in both starts over fences under Rules. He's also won twice over this trip over hurdles, including one here, and should take all the beating. Porters War returned from a lengthy absence to finish second at Fontwell but has been raised 3lb since. Rockchasebullett was beaten 22 lengths when second over track and trip last time and may also be in the handicapper's grip but there are possibilities about the unexposed Ladfromhighworth and Martin Cash has the past form to figure. So does Mon Chevalier but he is usually found wanting over this longer distance.
