Apple Joe, Kroisos, and Just Anvil are three against the field in this competitive handicap chase and the tentative vote goes to Apple Joe. The selection has been in fair form of late and was a good third behind Red Alert Man. That form has since been franked and in this easier race he is taken to get his head in front. Kroisos rates the main danger on his latest second behind Flinders but he may just need the run after a long absence and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Just Anvil is another worthy of respect but she just gave the impression she was in the handicappers grip when third behind Brave Spirit last time out. Just Attica was in front of the selection last time out but is worse off at the weights here and for the winner we return to Apple Joe to win this race for the second year running
