Verdict

Tanikos, Jones's Road and Phar City look the three to concentrate on in this handicap chase and the confident vote goes to Tanikos. The selection was a fair sixth behind Day Du Roy on his first run of the season. However he is sure to strip fitter here and with his stable in much better form and under conditions that suit he is taken to regain the winning thread. Jones's Road rates the main danger as he won well last time out when defeating Lough Rynn' However that was in a novices race and these seasoned handicappers may just find him out so he is passed over on this occasion. Phar City is another worthy of respect on his latest second behind Johann de Vonnas as he looks sure to be suited by this longer trip and he has definite place claims. Sossus Vlei is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he has only one victory to his name and he looks weighted up to his best so he is passed over on this occasion. Of the remainder The Newsman is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market but for the winner we return to Tanikos.
