In depth

Verdict

A wide open bumper rounds off the card and as usual in these types of events the market will be all important but the main protagonists look to Rutland, Money Line and Darkness and the tentative vote goes to Rutland. The selection was a good second on his debut behind Greenhill Bramble he is sure to have learnt from the experience and under similar conditions here he is taken to get his head in front at the second time of asking. Money Line rates the main danger as he is from a yard that does well in this sphere and this gelding by Roselier should be noted in the market. Darkness was a fair third behind the highly regarded Spirit of New York on his only run last season and is another that could go well. Aspiring Actor is from a top yard and this Old Vic gelding out of a moderate racemare is another that should be watched with the future in mind. As we said before the market should be watched closely but for the winner we return to Rutland who has the edge on experience.
