In depth

Verdict

Dar Es Salaam is selected here ahead of Thorax and Soul Mountain. Dar Es Salam's second to Horseford Hill at Newmarket last time rates as very good form in the context of this race and he looks to be a leading player today. El Dottore showed promise at Windsor last time and can be expected to improve further. Thorax rates as a big danger based on his third to Flavius here over 12 furlongs on his track debut, so he can go well. Soul Mountain has also shown plenty of promise and the draw at Chester may have beaten her last time when she finished second to a Walter Swinburn runner. Swinburn saddles Fisher Bridge here, who is fragile but not without talent and is not without a chance and maybe the easy conditions will suit whatever ails him. Of the others, Intersky Charm has shown some promise, and Legend Erry has nearly five lengths to make up on the selection from Newmarket, although that was his debut and he is entitled to improve on that effort, and Top Tiger has shown some promise. Once again, though, the selection is Dar Es Salaam.
