    Verdict

Richard Fahey won this last year with a newcomer and APPLETON can follow suit. A half-brother to winning stablemate Beardwood, rated 88, he gets the nod. Shaka Zulu was a losing favourite at Lingfield last time but is less exposed than Secret Ambition, who has been alternating between handicaps and maidens without success. Jess was expected to have progressed more than she has but still makes most appeal of the remainder.
