A weak maiden which shouldn't take much winning can go to Medusa with Premier Grand and Phantom Flame likely to provide the main opposition. The Dave Morris-trained Medusa made little impact on her sole juvenile start but has clearly thrived during the winter months and put up a fine effort on her return when a close second behind a useful yardstick over course and distance earlier in the month. The daughter of Emperor Jones showed plenty of pace to lead the field and was only just worn down in the dying strides by the odds-on favourite so should prove hard to peg back with the outing under her belt. Premier Grand appears to be progressing along the right lines having finished runner-up on both starts to date including a fair maiden event over this trip at Beverley last time. Patrick Haslam's charge looks sure to go well once again while Phantom Flame has shown plenty of ability and this pacey performer won't be inconvenienced by the drop back in trip after finishing a close second at Warwick last time.
