Verdict

Bobby John beat a big field in a Cork handicap in March but found fast ground against him at Sligo early this month and can do better. Alwaystheoptimist took advantage of very testing ground to score easily here in February and would have a real chance if the going turned to his advantage but Last Time D'Albain was hit with a 10lb rise after scoring at Clonmel and disappointed at Tramore last time. Giant Sequoia returns after a long break but has the scope to improve this season and is not out of this but the vote goes to WITHOUT THE BOP, who has reverted to hurdling in good form having run an an excellent second to Minella Clonmel at Cork last month and is still 9lb below his chase mark.
