Verdict

A small field but a tricky contest to work out; from a shortlist of GENEVA GEYSER and Gaily Noble it is the former who comes out on top. The selection disappointed last time out at Thirsk but he was unlucky to bump into a couple of progressive rivals and this field looks a tad easier. The drop back in trip is also in this course and distance winner's favour and he is fancied to run a big race. Splinter Cell is dropping in the weights and that may coincide with a better run, whilst Gaily Noble is consistent and judging by his win at Wolverhampton and his second at Beverley, the return to a longer trip should be in his favour. The cheek-pieces seemed to work for Sign Of Approval last time as he ran well in defeat, whilst Hatta Diamond has not really reproduced his all-weather form since moving to the turf. A very open race then, but it is Geneva Geyser who is nominated.
