Verdict

Manatee Bay is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and though beaten in a seller at Catterick in July bounced back to gain a surprise victory at Carlisle. He's up 3lb but will enjoy the conditions though SHORT WORK looks to have a better chance. David O'Meara's charge won a similar class handicap at Pontefract before a very good third in better company at York and runs from the same mark. Danish Duke carried a big weight to victory at Thirsk but didn't run so well from his revised mark at Southwell while Metisian has been unable to cope since going up 6lb for landing a Class 6 handicap at Doncaster. Alfie's Angel looked a few pounds high at Hamilton after scoring at Ayr so connections will be pleased with a 2lb drop.
