In depth

Verdict

Sheikhzayedroad ran a cracker behind Vazirabad in the Dubai Gold Cup in March but was beaten by Montaly in last year’s Lonsdale Cup at York, though later reversed that form in the Doncaster Cup. Montaly won the Chester Cup last season, a feat matched by Magic Circle earlier this month. The latter should again beat fifth Time To Study but 2m is probably too far for Newmarket second Red Verdon. Weekender has a first try at the trip and also steps up in class, though makes more appeal than stable companion Glencadam Glory. MOUNT MORIAH was much improved when stepped up in distance last year. He twice ran well behind Order Of St George and made a winning reappearance in Listed company at Nottingham so deserves another try to prove he stays 2m.
