      Verdict

      Thunderousapplause, Shevchenko and Perfect Star can fight it out here, with Thunderousapplause taken to come out on top. Shevchenko made up for some near misses with a sound victory at Thirsk last time, and with the second and third winning next time, it looked an above average contest for the track. He must go well. A Newmarket winner as a juvenile, Perfect Star was backed to make a winning re-appearance at Newbury, but although staying on well, failed to land a blow. A game success at Salisbury last time over a shorter trip suggests the seven furlongs here will suit, but she may not have the scope of some of her rivals in this good contest. Thunderousapplause left previous form behind when finishing a good fourth in a very hot Haydock handicap, where the secind and third subsequently won. A decisive win at Chester followed, and although a massive 12 pound hike in the ratings has followed, Thunderousapplause relished the soft ground at Chester and can defy top weight.
