Verdict

Cave Lion heads the short-list from The Which Doctor and St Trinians. This is quite an interesting little handicap in which the first two named make by far and away the most appeal. John Gosden's runner shaped well in a Lingfield maiden on debut in which the first two home were the useful pair Navajo Joe and Visions Of Johanna and he duly confirmed that promise with a cosy success at Windsor. The form of both runs suggests that the handicapper has been more than fair and he can take another step forwards here. The Which Doctor has met trouble in running on more than one occasion this season including here last time. He has the ability to win races from higher marks than his current one but he has proved frustrating to follow. This smaller field may well help and there's little to choose between the pair. E Major represents respected connections and is the mount of Ryan Moore for the first time. He will have to show marked improvement to win this race. Mystery Sail has been given plenty of time and may be worth a second look but St Trinians has nothing to prove in terms of form and thus makes more appeal. Ed Vaughan has his string in good order at present and she impressed at Wolverhampton and will win more races but this race can go the way of Cave Lion.
