In depth

Verdict

Trainer Noel Wilson has his string in good form and can enjoy another win here with Rightful Ruler, while Kahrayn and Rare Gold are among others considered. The selection stays at least as far as this, but should not be troubled by dropping back to this trip. He acts on decent ground and has a good pilot booked to help him along, and he still looks capable of winning from this mark. Rare Gold is blinkered for the first-time and therefore becomes a bit more interesting after disappointing somewhat last time. However, a check of his CV reveals that he won a maiden hurdle on fast ground over this trip, so if the headgear can galvanise him then don¿t rule him out. Cyd Charisse has conditions and trip to suit but looks to be a bit high in the weights and a better proposition looks to be Kahrayn. Alan King¿s runner may not yet have stopped improving and a 2lb drop for defeat last time will help. Bay Hawk is fit from the flat and A P McCoy is booked, but the gelding appears to want soft ground, so we¿ll take him and the rest of them on here with Rightful Ruler.
