In depth

Verdict

Chase The Wind had been relatively low-key until confirming himself a fair novice hurdler when scoring with plenty in hand at Wincanton. He's expected to take an upward curve now he's off the mark but MAXI CHOP may just have his measure in receipt of a valuable 7lb. He failed to handle Master Malt at Exeter when going off a shade of odds-on but that still represented a useful performance on a first run for nearly five months. He'll likely strip fitter now and the weight concession can tip matters in his favour. Vauban Du Seuil is almost certainly better than he's shown to date whilst Cyclone, a dual winner in Ireland and now with Jonjo O'Neill, and the former Gosden inmate, Obstacle, are interesting recruits to the hurdling game.
