In depth

Verdict

This looks tricky as Billy Merriott is probably due a change of luck and Easily Pleased lost his steering gear on his reappearance at Newton Abbot and is normally thereabouts. Sew On Target led for a long way in a much better race at Cheltenham last month but LE BACARDY has tumbled down the weights and is now a pound lower than his last winning mark – he could be value to get back on track on this quicker surface. Carrigmorna King has been waiting for better ground and still looks well treated having only been raised 3lb since scoring at Stratford in October. He has a good strike rate and shouldn’t be far away but Helium looks too high in the handicap at present.
