In depth

Verdict

HIT THE LIGHTS is up 6lb for his victory over the minimum trip at Catterick but has won off this mark in the past and with his young rider again able to utilise her claim he's taken to defy the extra. Pancake Day was staying on at the finish that day and will be suited by the extra furlong. Gaelic Wizard is generally thereabouts at this sort of level while White Flag is on the same mark as when landing a similar handicap here last May. Mitchum is a real mudlark as he showed when landing a Redcar seller very easily last time though that appears his level nowadays while both of Blue Jacket's course victories have been over an extra furlong. Monsieur Jimmy has won twice at Southwell in the past few weeks and looks remarkably well treated on Turf as he's a massive 21lb lower but a record of never being placed in 15 starts says it all. It's almost four years since Secret Witness last won a race, at York in a Class 2 handicap off a mark of 94.
