Verdict

Maghya can continue the good form of the Willie Haggas string by completing her hat-trick; Goodbye may be the one that she has to beat. The selection will find this tougher than the races that she's contested so far but she's clearly progressing along the right lines. She ran well enough on her first two starts on the all-weather at Lingfield but ran by far and away her best race when coming from last to first with a devastating run at Newmarket in May; it looked like a strong field (the thirteenth home has won twice since) and there were well strung out as the fourth was nine lengths adrift. The handicapper's taken a chance in just awarding her a 7lb rise and she can make the most of the opportunity she's been afforded. Goodbye can be rated better than the bare form of her latest start as she enjoyed little luck in running. She'd been in good form prior to that but is creeping up in the weights for getting beaten and is vulnerable to a more progressive rival such as the selection. Princess Taylor is respected but doesn't appear to have as much scope as the selection whilst Hulla Ballew is better with cut in the ground and Badalona and Bonny Rose may pose more problems. The latter would be feared if allowed a soft lead but needs to improve to win in this company but Michael Bell's filly has never finished outside the first two and was unfortunate to bump into a good one last time. She's only 4lbs higher and entitled to improve for the run but she may not be improving as fast as Maghya.
