In depth

Verdict

Sir Sandrovitch is due to make his third start in a week, and assuming Richard Fahey's gelding lines up he must not be opposed here. After a couple of eye-catching runs, Sir Sandrovitch bolted up from a poor draw at Beverley on Tuesday, landing a few good bets in the process, and looks to be on a very attractive mark here. The fact that it was an apprentice race means that he races off the same mark here, and he should have a good deal in hand. There is no denying the decisive nature of that three length victory, the horse tends to come into his own at this time of year, and although likely to be a relatively warm order here, he looks to be the nap on the card. Beyond Calculation appears to be in good heart at the moment and has a decent looking draw here, so Milton Bradley's nine-year-old, who loves fast ground, could be capable of reaching the frame at least. Another veteran sprinter who has been showing plenty of zest lately is Sharp Hat, who will probably try and make all of the running here and could also hang on for a place. Tommy Smith is an equally speedy sort and appears to be in decent shape, so they could easily set the race up for Sir Sandrovitch, who loves to come with a blistering late surge.
