    Verdict

Meltonian has shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature is well within his compass and looks to have been found a decent opportunity to finally open his account and is taken to do so with Julia's Choice rated a bigger danger than Spider Boy. The last mentioned has shown little sign of ability in seven starts so far and is difficult to recommend on all known evidence. The John Jenkins-trained Julia's Choice has at least shown signs of ability but is rated 14lbs inferior to the selection, who gets a confident vote. The six-year-old weakened as lack of peak fitness told on his recent return at Fontwell but that run should have put him spot on for today's outing and he gets the vote to open his account.
