Verdict

Final Bid is taken to get his head in front at the expense of Maximix and Blast The Past. The selection has been in great form this winter and although he doesn't get his head in front that often he looks well capable of landing this. His latest win was at Ludlow in February and he was not discredited when second to Trigger Guard at Fontwell last time. The only negative is that he would ideally want cut in the ground so any over night rain would be a welcome relief. Maximix is trained by Gary Moore who has his team in great order at present. He was in winning form at Fontwell on his penultimate run but then failed to trouble the judge when a disappointing fourth of eight thereafter. He has now had a break and if fresh and well he would hold a live chance. As will Blast The Past who was in great winning form in the early winter only to go off the boil at Newcastle on his penultimate outing. He was in the process of running another fine race when coming to grief at the same track last month. He was held that day but if back to his best he will be in the first three. But for the winner we return to Final Bid.
