In depth

Verdict

Jonjo O'Neill runs four in this novices' hurdle, three of them owned by J P McManus. But retained jockey A P McCoy rides IF IN DOUBT for Philip Hobbs and the five-year-old should make it third-time lucky after seconds in a bumper at Bangor and on his hurdling debut at Folkestone. Doncaster bumper fourth Upswing may prove best of O'Neill's quartet while Ferdy Murphy saddles last June's Hexham bumper winner Loxendor. Runaway Green should be all the better for his fourth at Wincanton and Viva Steve was only beaten half-a-length in a Plumpton bumper in November and makes more appeal than the McCain pair Darlington County and Goodacres Garden.
