VIOLONISTE (NAP) has shot up the weights on the back of a hat-trick but appeared to win with plenty to spare at Perth for his new yard last time and the booking of Ciaran Fennessey, who has ridden the horse in point-to-points, offsets the penalty for that Scottish success - he is hard to oppose. Dragoon Guard is coming along nicely over timber and should be in the mix along with Generous Jack, who ran a solid race here last time behind Fine Resolve. Aaman and Earls Fort finished first and third in a Newton Abbot novices' handicap hurdle last month and both deserve respect but placings may well be reversed here as the latter probably has more room for progression.
