Verdict

Charlie Mon ran a cracker behind Exxaro over course and distance two weeks ago but was well beaten by Copperfacejack at Taunton in November. Captain Mowbray bolted up at Cartmel last month, with Grandads Horse well beaten, but won’t find it easy to defy a 10lb rise. Aunty Ann looks a threat having been dropped a pound since a close-up third at Market Rasen while Mercers Court has a 3lb pull in the weights than when beaten a length-and-a-half by Riddlestown at Towcester. FORT GABRIEL did well to run Lord Ballim to a neck on soft going at Worcester as he’s better on quicker ground. This longer trip is also in his favour so he gets the nod. Twojayslad and Maid Of Milan look best of the rest.
