Verdict

There's not a great deal to choose between FASSAROE, Wester Ross and Ermine Sea on official figures but the top-rated Fassaroe may be the one to prevail. Daring Origyn will need to improve considerably on the form of his hurdling bow if he's to trouble that triumvirate whilst Jonjo O'Neill's pair may be best watched unless the market suggests to the contrary. Wester Ross has had the misfortune to bump into a couple of fair sorts in Levera and Press The Button at Huntingdon whilst his other start came in a warm race won by Michael Flips. He's fit from a couple of runs on the level and should be in the mix. Ermine Sea has plenty of ability but he hasn't always convinced with his attitude although he kept on well enough at Fontwell in March and again at Ascot on the level in a valuable handicap. However, he's performed poorly the last twice and the jury remains out. Oliver Sherwood has been amongst the winners and he may have another one in Fassaroe who failed to run his race when some 18 lengths behind Ermine Sea on his latest start. He's better than he showed that day and may be caught best fresh so we'll give Fassaroe the opportunity to prove that running to be wrong.
