Verdict

Locum is the suggestion in a typically trappy contest with Bikini and Cheviot Red others to bear in mind. The aforementioned trio all have something to prove in comparison to the likes of Ocean Legend and Classical Rhythm but there are a host of unexposed runners in here and it would be no surprise to see one of them land the spoils. Locum caught our eye behind an impressive winner last time and is bred to appreciate this step up in trip and may be worth chancing. Bikini narrowly missed second over a mile here last time when finishing strongly and the filly that denied her won a handicap from a similar mark on Thursday so Henry Candy's filly has to be on the short-list. Dancing Marabout, Fiume and Mezzanisi are others to have a look at that but we'll take a closer look at Cheviot Red. She's been sent off at big prices in three warm maidens but her dam won over this trip and she may well be able to step up on her form with Alan Munro taking the ride for the first time. Not easy this one, Locum is the tentative choice.
