In depth

Verdict

In this maiden, Alexander Guru is selected ahead of Commandment and Wester Ross. Alexander Guru seemed to meet a good one at Kempton last time but showed enough in finishing second that he can go well today. Commandment cost 190,000 euros, while Amanda Perrett's Almahaza could not be ruled out on breeding. James Fanshawe's Meon Mix and Sister Agnes are well-related, while it would be no surprise to see Surprise Act go well on his debut. Finally, in a race where the market might tell you more than we can, Wester Ross has shown promise in each start to date and, given that he may have needed his latest outing, where he met trouble in running, he is another to consider. The selection, though, is Alexander Guru.
