An open affair in which the shortlist consists of Mistral Sky, Makabul and Pat Will, with the vote going to the first-named. Although seen most recently on the all-weather, he goes well on this ground and whilst he has won over seven furlongs, he is equally at home over this trip and gets the nod. Richard Hughes looks an eye-catching jockey booking for Arfinnit so the market may help guide there, whilst Pat Will is fairly consistent and has claims in this weak contest. Currency is a course and distance winner so warrants respect, especially as he should come on for his recent reappearance. Makabul takes a drop in grade and as one of the less exposed runners in the race he should go well on ground that suits, however Mistral Sky knows how to win and gets the nod.
