In depth

Verdict

Another difficult puzzle to solve but Bermacha is selected to come home in front with Golden Penny, Rich Kid, Pediment and Harlem Shuffle others to consider in a wide open affair. Bermacho was last seen finishing third behind the well handicapped Jaser on soft ground that would have been far from ideal. She travelled extremely well to hit the front two furlongs out in that Nottingham event and this quicker surface should be much more to her liking. Golden Penny hails from a yard that are dab hands at placing their handicappers so support would be significant although the bare form he displayed to win a Southwell maiden last time does not appear good enough. Rich Kid has been a credit to connections but doubts would exist about his ability to see out a truly run mile. Pediment makes her handicap debut here so again the market should be monitored where she is concerned. Runner-up in a Kempton all-weather maiden on her final juvenile outing, the time looked reasonable but the proximity of a 50-1 casts a shadow over the worth of the form. Farthermost disappointed on his seasonal debut where he never looked likely to land a blow. Bermacha is nominated to land this for Willie Muir and Martin Dwyer.
