In depth

Verdict

The City Kid is selected to get on the winning trail after a highly promising second last time. Very consistent throughout the backend of last season, his appearances in recent months have been limited to say the least. That effort last time marked him down as one for whom a victory is in the pipeline and The City Kid can land his seventh victory here. Bentley has solid claims given that he drops back in trip having failed to stay nine furlongs last time out. Willie Ever carries a 6lb penalty for a 2 3/4 l victory over nine furlongs last time. He has shown good form over six in the past so the trip should not inconvenience him and he remains open to plenty of improvement. A Big Sky Brewing has the headgear re-applied today but is another that might be too high currently in the weights. The City Kid is nominated to land the finale.
