Verdict

VOORTREKKER is taken to get the better of Kefalonia and Izzy Lou. The selection has a good draw and he ran really well in a maiden at Bath last time when he finished second behind Tilos Gem. He is clearly on an upward curve and if he can improve again then he should take plenty of beating. Kefalonia looks the big danger but this filly from the Barry Hills yard has an awful draw and although she caught the eye on her debut at Kempton, she then disappointed at Redcar last time and she has a bit to prove. Izzy Lou is making her all-weather debut after two promising runs on the turf and she should certainly be seen to better effect now that she is upped in trip. Layer Cake was well beaten in a handicap at Nottingham last time and he has now had plenty of chances without being able to take one. An open maiden and the vote goes to Voortrekker.
